Remember the old shed in the field where I use to play. My imaginary friends and I went there every day. We cried and fussed and even sneaked a cigarette or two We thought we were smart because you never knew. The shed was my favorite place for laughing and crying too In fact I think it enhanced whatever I might do. I remember only good things about my childhood days And I remember you loving me a hundred different ways. You made me eat my dinner and go to bed on time. I think you talked the tooth fairy into leaving me a dime! You made me wash the dishes and taught me how to cook You drove me to the library so I could get a book. But no matter what I did or where adventures led Before the day was over I’d end up at the shed Sometimes I did not agree with what you did or said But I knew you loved me ... I thought it over at the shed. |
