The Golf Pro

So Bob, I hear you think you are a  wonderful golf pro

Too bad when you play it doesn't always show!

But I got you this certificate to put up on your wall

Under the display case with all the golf clubs and balls

It really looks official and if no one views it closely

They'll never know when we tee off I'm the winner, mostly

The example above was ordered by a lifelong golf pal for his friends 68th birthday. This was signed by his friend and put into a document frame. The poem and the real display case was a gift his friend can show off and cherish forever!

Jennie

I looked up lady in the dictionary and what did I see

But Jennie as an example of what a lady should be

Jennie is a beautiful person of that there’s no doubt

But more importantly she’s beautiful inside and out

I first met Jennie when she was down on her luck

It was Christmas time and she didn’t have a buck

But she was smiling, gracious and kind as well

And didn’t have any sob stories to tell.

While most of us would have found it difficult to cope

Instead Jennie talked of the future with hope

Because when you’re a lady you have all that you need.

So remember that Jennie, good luck and God speed!

To Jana and Clay with our love

Best wishes to each of you on this your wedding day

I hope the future holds all you want for both you and Clay.

It makes me happy to know your dreams are coming true

I wish you joy and understanding from the time you say “I Do”

Dad and I will miss you Jana but we can also proudly say

We welcome our new son, Clay into our family today

You’ve both been independent and made decisions of your own

But you need to remember now not to make them all alone

Marriage brings love and joy and a happiness you can taste

But can also be destroyed by unkind words said in haste

So both of you always remember today and how you feel inside

And do everything it takes to keep this glorious love alive.

The examples below are very pretty in a nice 8 x 10 frame or an 11 x 14 with a mat. Also I have done several in a shadow box. That gives them an elegant look that a frame can not always accomplish.

Joann

Perhaps, this isn't the very best poem you ever read

but hang it on the wall or keep it in your head

Because I always want you to remember what I had to say

when I wrote you a special poem to read on Christmas Day.

I prayed, Lord, no one but the best is good enough for my son

I guess I was right cause look what God has done!

He brought you into Mike's life when he was at an all time low

You gave him the love and support he needed, I know ... he told me so.

Mike is my son, my joy and the love of my life

Nothing makes me prouder than to know that you're his wife

One of my favorites

A Soldiers Thoughts

We each reach the point

In the Journey of Life

When our soul must decide

To die or to fight.

From the turmoil within

Comes an echoing shout

That your inner being wants Freedom

But your mind is in doubt.

You must then make your choice

Be it good, be it bad

But there’s no neutral ground

In this world to be had.

You may long for your loved one

Or have someone near

In your mind is a whirlpool,

In your eye is a tear.

From your infant remembrance

Till your last dying day

You seek but the part

In this world you should play.

From the first breath you draw

Till you gasp for your last

You dream for tomorrow

And build from the past.

You seek not to prosper

For your goal is not gain

But just to find Peace

Somewhere deep in your brain.

Thus has it been

And so shall it be

Till the beauty of death

Shall set your soul free.

Thank you, sister

Dianne, Dianne, Dianne there is so much to say about you
You're whimsical and extravagant but very practical too
When you're upset you wave and holler that you really don't care
But inside you are very hurt, but admit it, you wouldn't dare.
You're the sister closest to my age so that made us share
Everything from a bed to friends and even the clothes we would wear
You dated first and I tagged along......Yuck!  I hated that.
I thought you were beautiful and I was ugly and fat.
On my sixteenth birthday I was so excited about my party I could scream
But you pretended no one was showing up...that was  really mean!
We moved to Memphis a couple years later when I thought I was grown
I wasn't really though because I would not stay home alone
When I got off work I'd come to your job and stay and stay
Finally they said you might as well clock in so you can get some pay.
Once a couple of girls and even your boss treated me a little bit mean
You told them straight in a meaningful way "Stay away from Arlene"
Then we got married and went our own separate ways
We each had our husbands and a child to fill our days.
You moved away from home and somehow we lost track
But after a few years of heartache you found your way back.
We became very close not just sisters, but friends
But due to life's circumstances that came to an end
I decided my life was not exactly what I wanted it to be
I will always remember and cherish how you were supportive of me
How can one put into words what all made them who they are
You said to me "follow your heart that's what life is for"
Now I have the love of my life and peace of mind at last
I found them by the influence you  had on me in the past.

I love you always
